ROME - Almost five hundred Filipino youth gathered together in front of the Basilica of St. Peter and Paul Basilica in the Vatican to form the first Philippine Giant Human Flag in Rome.
Participants wore caps and t-shirts that symbolizes the colors of the Philippine flag.
The activity was organized by the Philippine Youth Commission and Sentro Filipino Chaplaincy in preparation for the Philippine Independence Day on June 12.
KC Castillo and Jasper Domingo both said they had a memorable experience by joining the event.
"Masaya po kasi first time ko and being a part of Philippine culture is very important for me,” said Castillo.
"Magandang pagkakataon ito kasi nagsama-sama po ang kabataan at getting to know each other,” said Domingo.
Philippine Ambassador to the Holy See Mercedes Tuason also joined in the formation of the Philippine Human Flag.
"I think this is a good step that they are doing," said Tuason.
