Ms. QC wins Ms. PH Earth 2012


MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) - Ms. Quezon City Stephany Dianne Stefanowitz was crowned Ms. Philippines Earth 2012 on Sunday night.
She won over 46 other contestants in the coronation night held at the SM Mall of Asia Center Stage aired over ABS-CBN.
Stefanowitz will represent the Philippines in Ms. Earth 2012 in Indonesia.
In the question and answer portion, she was asked by judge Rachel Grant the question, "If you were a superhero, what power would you choose to have, and how would you use it to save the earth?"
Her answer was: "Definitely, I would be a superhero with the power to clean up the whole environment. My advocacy is the conservation and preservation of our environment, not only for ourselves but of course, for the future generations as well. And as a citizen, it is essential for us to realize how today's decisions affect tomorrow's generation."
Ms. Vigan City Candice Ramos won Ms. Philippines Ecotourism.
Ms. Puerto Princesa City Thoreen Halvorsen won Ms. Philippines Fire.
Ms. San Juan City Samantha Purvor won Ms. Philippines Water
Ms. Tabuk City - Glennifer Perido won Ms. Philippines Air

Last year's winner of Ms. Philippines Earth was Ms. Athena Imperial.
Among the judges were: Valenzuela City councilor Shalani Soledad; actresses Empress Schuck and Rachel Grant; Senator Koko Pimentel; journalist Ricky Alegre.
Among the hosts of the pageant this year were ABS-CBN reporter and former Ms. Philippines Earth - Air, Ginger Conejero, and Marc Nelson, co-host of ABS-CBN's Sports Unlimited.
Ms. Earth beauty queens become advocates of environmental protection worldwide.
Carousel Productions Inc. organized the first international Ms. Earth beauty pageant in 2001.
The company says Ms. Earth is "the most relevant and worthwhile beauty event in the world, setting a legacy of beauty and responsibility."
Olga Alava of Ecuador is the current Ms. Earth 2011 titleholder.
