Tyra Banks wore another Rajo Laurel creation on “America’s Next Top Model,” this time for the show’s season finale.
A photo of Banks wearing Laurel’s “Pintados” gown was posted on the supermodel’s Facebook page.
“Miss Tyra Banks wore my Pintados gown for the finale of the latest cycle of ‘America’s Next Top Model!’” Laurel said in his blog on fashion website StyleBible.
“I was like, so very happy! To be honest, no one really knows what these big stars will be wearing. It is [a] combination of luck, connections and ultimately good design,” he added.
Laurel explained that the idea behind his “Pintados” creations is incorporating traditional Filipino designs with modern styles.
Filipina model Tweetie de Leon also donned the same gown that Banks chose to wear in her show’s season finale.
Other items in the “Pintados” collection include t-shirts, pants, cropped jackets and body suits.
Laurel thanked his cousin, “America’s Next Top Model” producer Michael Carandang, for giving him and other Filipinos the opportunity to shine in the fashion reality show.
Just last month, Banks wore a beige and black dress by Laurel on one of the episodes of “America’s Next Top Model.”
Early this week, Filipino blogger Bryan Yambao or Bryanboy began taping for the upcoming season of “America’s Next Top Model.” Reports said he will be joining the show as a “social media correspondent.”
Other Filipinos featured in the show include designers Francis Libiran, Michael Cinco and Oliver Tolentino, model and VJ Georgina Wilson and actress Anne Curtis.
