A healthy mind is the key to a happier life. Keeping your mind happy with the right kind of food that can make it sharper,
stronger and more efficient is a necessity. Eating power foods for the brain can help you keep diseases at bay.

If you are a non-vegetarian and love eating fish, you have some good news. Salmon, tuna and other fatty fish are considered to be rich in protein, calcium and omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for the brain and your nervous system. Eating fish aids the development of the brain.

2. Eggs

Just as fish, eggs are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids which facilitate the brain cell development process. Including this high-in-protein, low fat and Vitamin E rich food in your daily diet will prove to be an excellent decision.

3. Salad

Green leafy vegetables like lettuce, spinach and others like carrot, broccoli, and cabbage are an apt choice of food for your brain. These fibre-rich foods are rich in antioxidants like Vitamin C and E that protect the brain. You can also use these essential veggies to make yourself some hot and steaming soup.

4. Almonds

Right from your grandmother to your aunt, everyone forced you to eat almonds everyday in order to have better memory. Those tiny little nuts are rich in antioxidants and also contain omega-3 fatty acids. Eating a few almonds everyday can be absolutely worth it, although you need to keep an eye on the calories you consume.

5. Whole Grains

Consuming whole grains like wheat, barley etc in your daily diet can assure the intake of glucose. Glucose is one of the most important ingredients for your brain to function perfectly. It is recommended that there should be an intake of at least 100 grams of carbohydrates everyday to ensure smooth functioning of your brain.

6. Yogurt

The amino acids that yogurt contains result in the formation of substances that are known to deal with stress and also improve memory. You can add nuts and the choice of fruits to the yogurt to make an interesting desert.

7. Blueberries

Blueberry is a beautiful fruit rich in antioxidants and is considered to be one of the best brain foods. The Vitamin E that it contains helps in combating the loss of cognitive abilities, which is known to deteriorate with growing age.
