Guilt Every Woman Lives With

Women are essentially self-critical, so much so that every imperfect act leads to guilt.
Here are some facts that shed light on the kinds of guilt experienced by women on a daily basis.

1. Time with Children

A married woman with a job riding her down her neck always regrets not being able to spend enough time with her children. Women are terrified of turning into the kind who only gets to see their children during meal times. Women, no matter how stoic, are inherently motherly. They want to be able to provide for their children’s needs no matter how busy they are. Sometimes the hazards of their profession get in their way, leaving them ridden with guilt.

2. Weight Gain

Whether single or in a committed relationship, every woman is ridden with the guilt of having binged on comfort food. As much as they’d like to refute this, women are in fact extremely sensitive about their weight. While they’d rather live on brine and biscuits, they can sometimes fall prone to dietary indiscretions. A bag of chips or even a slice of cake makes them fall to their knees in repentance. They’d prefer munching on celery sticks and purging their desires rather than gorging on a pizza and regretting it for the rest of their lives.

3. Unsatisfied Partner

Women are extremely sensitive about sexual satisfaction. Not only do they demand being satisfied, but also desire to satisfy their partners as well. In this regard, a sexually-closed person suffers from the guilt of not being able to appeal to her partner’s basal senses. Not being sexually viable kills them psychologically. Studies have shown that being unable to perform well sexually has implicit effects on female behaviour with greater susceptibility to depression and suicidal tendencies.

4. Maxing out Credit Card

Shopping is bliss, but when it comes at the price of an empty bank account, it calls for irrepressible amounts of guilt. Let’s face it – women have no filtering systems when it comes to selecting clothes. Their decisions are based on confusion and the surmounting regret is impossible to pacify. So in their utter excitement they’d buy the entire store on credit and only crib about the payable amount, once the credit card bill has been issued.

5. Letting Someone Down

Women are born to please others. They take it as their personal responsibility to make sure that everyone around them is happy. They will take pains at perfecting everything to another’s expectations and, at the slightest frown, will let hell break loose and work down to their bones again. In such a situation, realizing that they’ve been unable to live up to someone’s expectation hassle them to no ends. They harbour the guilt for decades at a stretch, trying to undo the wrongs and get back into the good books of the other person.
At the end of the day, no matter how nagging or irritating their traits might be, women are only human. They are riddled by the same problems affecting us all in some way or the other.
