One of the Caribbean’s leading rum producers with a super collection of rum brands, Angostura is now offering 20 limited edition 500ml bespoke decanters of the most expensive blend of rum, each with an expected price of $25,000. Produced entirely by hand on a single island in Trinidad over six years, the rum in question, Legacy by Angostura was distilled using a seven-column continuous still, chill filtered and aged in a once-used 200 liter America oak cask, and was unveiled by John Georges, Angostura's rum master distiller, who recently hosted an exclusive tastings in Australia. This exceedingly rare luxury for serious rum connoisseurs was created primarily to mark the 50th anniversary of Tobago and Trinidad, where it’ll be available in August.

Legacy by Angostura draws on distillery’s seven most precious and rare rums in its final recipe, the youngest of which is 17 years old. The rum brand Angostura actually set out to create the greatest sipping rum ever produced, and have been successful so far after creating the Legacy by Angostura that is both unique and unequalled.

As per John Georges, the $25,000 price tag is justified for Legacy which is a unique and largely secret blend of Angostura’s rarest and finest rums, and given the effort and time that was put into creating it. And, once these bottles will get sold, no more of this liquid will be available in the market, making it truly a unique opportunity for a few select individuals.

Further, Legacy’s stunning art deco decanter comprises of lead-free crystal, hand blown by Asprey London, a renowned jeweller to the Prince of Wales. An intricate sterling silver stopper depicts a rare Trinidadian butterfly, acting as both a motif for the rum itself and a reference to the belief that butterfly landing on cane sugar occasions the beginning of harvest.
Also, there’s another most expensive bottle of rum valued at $40,500, which was bottled in the 1940s by the Jamaican distillers Wray and Nephew, and contains a blend that date back as far as around 1915.

And, we have also earlier seen the Bacardi 150th anniversary limited edition rum, marking the company’s 150th year of producing the finest rum.
